Companionship Care

From day-to-day support, either at home or getting out and about through to having a trusted support for trips or travel.

Dedicated Support from a Trusted Companion

From day-to-day assistance – either at home or getting out and about – to having trusted support for trips or travel, we offer companionship services to suit your every need.

Sometimes care isn’t about a complex medical need or intimate personal care. What is often more important is living the life that you always have, doing the things you enjoy and feeling connected to the people who matter to you.

We can support with education, hobbies and interests, attending events and shows, concierge services and running errands or just popping around for a cup of tea and a chat.

With Blue Ribbon you have the peace of mind of a regulated service that involves recruitment checks, training and ongoing support for the carers who join our team. Call us today if you’d like to find out more.

What is Companionship Care?

With quality companionship services, tailored to your needs, you can live a fulfilling and independent life. Companion care can include almost anything that isn’t medical or personal. Your unique package of companionship will be created just for you, and may involve:

Company

The loss of a loved one, limited mobility or family members who don’t live locally. These are hurdles which can often seem difficult to overcome. But a friendly and familiar face can take you out and about, support you around the house or even just sit and have a chat with a cup of tea a couple of times a week to lift the weight of loneliness.

Running errands

Sometimes the things that you used to take for granted can be so difficult to achieve, but we can support you with shopping, dropping things to the post office or picking up your pension you can relax in the knowledge that your chores will be done when you need them to be.

Hobbies and holidays

There are things we all like to do that help us  enjoy our lives and bring esteem, and we know that an injury or illness should be no cause for these things to stop. Your carer can support with physical activities like going swimming or out for a walk. If you attend social groups, classes or a day centre, they can accompany you and offer support while you are there. They can even assist you on holiday, in the UK or abroad, to help you get the most out of the experience.

Driving and accompanying

Getting from A to B these days isn’t always simple. That’s why our carers can either drive you or escort you on public transport to wherever you need to go, be that to an appointment, day out or social engagement.

Home help

Support with house work, meal prep and entertaining guests can all be provided for you by our carers. We know that people feel most comfortable at home, so our carers can provide the support you need while also being a friendly face and someone to chat to.

Finding a Companion

At Blue Ribbon, every one of our carers is recruited, employed and trained by us. As a family-run business we can offer continuity of carer throughout our live-in care and visiting support services meaning that you can build familiarity and trust with your companion.

Accepting a new person in to your home can be a daunting prospect, but having a regular companion to assist with hobbies, activities and errands means that you can develop a great relationship that we know a lot of our customers wouldn’t be without.

Thoroughly screened and assessed, we aim to ensure that our carers and companions that visit and support you at home are willing and able to support you to ensure you continue to live the life you always have.

Each one of our carers is DBS and reference checked, as you’d expect and has also successfully completed our comprehensive Induction Training Program.
